The
day you start using EMS, you start building a data warehouse.
The function of a data warehouse is to help you better
understand your program. This is done by performing statistical
analysis on your data.
Just imagine, when your students graduate, you can furnish
them with a portfolio containing a complete list of their
rotations, activities performed during their rotations
and all evaluations. They can take this portfolio to prospective
employers.
Most schools have their students complete an evaluation
of their preceptors. The standard procedure for processing
the evaluations is to have an administrator review them
then file them away never to be looked at again. With
EMS, you can quickly review a single evaluation or run
a report to give you cumulative information to seriously
evaluate a preceptor.
