From
day one, security has been a top priority with EMS. We
designed a custom security system the sole purpose of which
is to keep your secured information private. Security begins
at the login page. Each user is assigned a unique user ID and
password. The password can be encrypted if you prefer. Each
function within EMS is assigned a process ID. Every time you
attempt to perform a system function, the security system checks
to see if you have authority for that function. Access to the
functions is maintained in real time. Once access is revoked
to a process, the user can no longer perform that process. The
system administrator can modify a user's access with just a
few clicks of the mouse.
We have built some time saving features into the security system.
You can create access templates. An example of this template
is creating a list of all the functions a student will require.
When you grant access to EMS for a student, the security system
will automatically give the student access to all the functions
contained within the template. The template is a starting point.
After the student's access has been set (based on the template),
the system administrator can modify the functions available
to that specific student without affecting the other students.
Students and preceptors are allowed to view only their own information.
Therefore, one student cannot see the rotations for another.
Also, preceptors can only submit evaluations for students assigned
to them. |
