Tracking
EMS has expanded beyond rotation management. We saw a need to be able to keep track of information about students and preceptors. EMS has a set of information gathering forms that can be used for many purposes. Some information currently being tracked is student CPR cards, preceptor appointments, continuing education credits and affiliation agreements. These forms have a generic design which allow them to track information specific to your need without any programming required.

Here are some examples of how just one university is using the tracking feature:
  1. Adjunct Faculty Renewals - Faculty appointments are to be renewed every two years. Prior to EMS, the coordinator needed to audit files by hand to determine who to process. The tracking comments field allows the coordinator to identify information about each preceptor that might influence a decision to renew or not. (negative board actions etc.)

  2. Accreditation Reports - Provides a report that documents the numbers of Adjunct Faculty and their credentials for accreditation boards. (board certifications, degrees etc.)

  3. Yearly Survey Data - Supplies information on Adjunct Faculty members as required by various government and private surveys performed on a yearly basis.

  4. Student Intern Licenses and CPR Certification - Provides an easy and convenient way to track these requirements. Reports can then be run to show missing or outdated information.
